Brainstorming for Assignment 1, the creation of a zine, prompted a thorough contemplation of potential themes. Initially, concepts such as portraying women of color in skateboarding, exploring "tiny pretty little things" through a central magnifying lens, delving into favorite artists, examining diverse clothing fabrics from Western to Indian wear, and documenting my preferred clothing types emerged. However, a suggestion steered me toward focusing on my top Spotify genres, narrowing down the scope to encapsulate each genre imaginatively.
The project will center on presenting my top Spotify genres and conveying my personal vision of each. To enhance the reader's experience, Spotify links will accompany each genre, directing them to a song that encapsulates its essence. If time permits, I aspire to curate mini playlists for each genre, featuring at least five handpicked songs. As for the physical aspect, I envision the zine's pages being medium-sized, slightly smaller than the standard zine dimensions, with the aim of creating a visually appealing and informative final product. This approach allows for a cohesive exploration of my musical tastes, providing readers with both visual and auditory insights into my top Spotify genres. In this creative journey, I aim to strike a balance between the tangible and the auditory, offering readers a comprehensive glimpse into the multifaceted world of my top musical preferences.
